Ariana is an educator, writer and scholar committed to co-inventing what is possible in organizations. She has a proven track record of transforming institutional systems and operationalizing equity commitments as a senior level administrator in higher education, faculty member and advisor. Ariana was a co-investigator on the Mellon funded Critical Theory in the Global South sub-grant, Hacer Escuela/Inventing School and was the project director for a Lumina Rockefeller grant at Bard College to cultivate racial equity through revealing suppressed local histories.
She is known for her inventive, humble and compassionate approach to topics related to anti-racism, equity, belonging and strategic change. As a builder and creator, Ariana has held a number of inaugural roles; Barnard College as their inaugural Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, as a founding faculty member of Guttmann Community College of the City University of New York and as the first Dean for Inclusive Excellence at Bard College. She holds a PhD in Philosophy and Education from Columbia University Teachers College.
